International Day of Peace 2018

In light of International Day of Peace, the Better World Team would like to invite all Scouts to be a part of this worldwide effort.

This year’s theme for International Day of Peace is “The Right to Peace – The Universal Declaration of Human Rights at 70”

International Day of Peace (IDOP), is observed around the world on 21st September. Declared by the United Nation’s General Assembly, Peace Day is devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, both within and among all nations and peoples. The 16th Sustainable Development Goal (SDG), “Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions”, calls for promoting peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, providing access to justice for all and building effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels.

The Better World Team encourage all Scouts to initiate activities, during the month of September, that promotes peace in your community. Scout groups are welcomed to collaborate with Non-Profit Organisations (NGOs), Voluntary Welfare Organisations (VWOs) or Independent groups that are doing good work for our community and environment, this will amplify your efforts in promoting peace by engaging more people in society.
